 Beware! Its Cyber World - - Lottery Scam: We have to learn something from the cybercriminals because they strictly believe in the phrase "Try Try Again". 

Few days back i discussed a mail containing Winning Notification from Antoinette Ramos on behalf of AUSTRALIA LOTTERY INCORPORATION. Today I received the same gain with few changes like contact numbers and email addresses; but the purpose is the same to cheat innocent internet users. This is a total internet fraud, like many before shared here. 

Dear readers, don't believe it and don't respond to any of the contacts given in the mail whether it is Andrew Morgan or Antoinette Ramos. Your any kind of response will make them sure that your email address is live and you will start getting hell of spam mails.

Julian Assange, Founder of WikiLeaks, Arrested in London - - Accused by the Swedish Justice of Sexual Abuse And Rape of Two Women

WikiLeaks‘s founder, Julian Assange, was arrested this morning by the Metropolitan Police of London, England.

In a statement published by the Guardian, British police confirmed the arrest of Australian aged 39, from 9:30 am British time.

Assange is accused by the Swedish Justice of sexual abuse and rape of two women allegedly committed in August this year. The country issued a warrant for Assange on November 18, but the action was overridden by a procedural error. A new warrant was issued on December 2.

The founder of WikiLeaks must be presented at 12:30 in Westminster, central London, unless he gets some judicial review.

According to British newspaper, the founder of WikiLeaks performed willingly. According to his lawyer, he is anxious to know exactly what the charges are against him.

In recent weeks, WikiLeaks has promoted the protests on the part of governments and world diplomacy for disclosing secret documents to countries like USA, France, England and even Brazil.

WikiLeaks is a transnational nonprofit organization, headquartered in Sweden, which publishes on his Web site, posts from anonymous sources, documents, photos or confidential information leaked from governments or corporations, on sensitive issues. The site was built on various software packages, including MediaWiki, Freenet, Tor and PGP. Despite its name, Wikileaks is a wiki – readers who do not have the appropriate permissions can not edit the contents.

Cyberbullying Can Be Prevented Only Through Education and Awareness

In the era before the intrusion of the Internet, when social-networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace were just an imagination and cell phones were big, bulky devices for the privileged few; kids could escape the big, bad bully by running back to the boundaries of their own homes. 

But with digital devices now readily available, practically no premise is safe, and almost anyone is vulnerable to cyberbullying. Because of the occurrence of cyberbullying — and the deep isolation many victims experience — education, awareness, and prevention are needed.

Cyberbullying is using any digital device such as the Internet, cell phones, video-game systems, or other technology to send or post contents with the intention to deliberately hurt a person. A full 43 percent of teens have been victims of cyberbullying in the last year, according to National Crime Prevention, a nonprofit group. Only 11 percent actually talked to their parents about incidents of cyberbullying.

While City High Principal John Bacon said there haven’t been many incidents of cyberbullying at area schools, he didn’t play down the significance of the issue, saying its ability to disrupt a student’s learning environment is one of his main concerns. Bacon said school officials “really want to make an effort to be proactive” so they can help students understand the seriousness of cyberbullying and the consequences of sending harmful messages.

Internet users need to be aware of the risks and benefits posed by the Internet; virtually anyone can access social-networking sites and get ahold of personal information, for example. Keep your personal information private and be familiar with privacy accounts on websites most frequently visited to control who can see what. National Crime Prevention suggests showing victims how to block the bully’s messages or to delete messages without reading them to prevent bullying from occurring. Last, it is crucial for teens to understand the importance of reporting incidents and where to go to report said acts, because so many go unnoticed.

Cyberbullying can be especially coercive, compared to traditional bullying. While less physical — it’s not as if you’re leaving the lunch room with a sore arm and empty pockets — victims are often left to fend for themselves while online: There’s little chance of a heroic intervenor stepping in the way of a roundhouse punch. The weapons of cyberbullies are denigrating words and sentences, not face-to-face intimidation.

Another heavily spreading message cum image purportedly shows US President Obama wearing a hat shaped like an acorn cap while enjoying a cigarette.

It's a magic of digital world. and the image is a produce of digital manipulation. The distorted image is projected as a political joke or comment and has been posted to many humour, satire and political websites. In fact, the cigarette, and later, the acorn hat have been added digitally to an original photograph of U.S President Obama.

Beware! It's a Cyber World - - Explanation:

This photograph, which circulates via email and has also been posted to numerous blogs, forums and social networking sites, supposedly depicts US President Barack Obama wearing a strange hat shaped like the cap of an acorn while smoking a cigarette. The message containing the picture, often sporting the title "New Fall Hat" includes the caption "Acorn cap with the nut still attached" as an explanation of the image. Many people have contacted me to ask if the image is genuine.

However, the image is not a genuine photograph. In fact, it is the result of the digital manipulation of the following original photograph:

The above photograph was taken when then Illinois State Senator Barack Obama made a visit to the University of Illinois in August 2004. At some point, this original image was cropped and the cigarette was added as shown in the following manipulated version:

The same image was again altered so that Obama appeared to be facing the other way:

Many versions of the above "Obama smoking" image have subsequently circulated. Satirical website BrokenCountry.com even featured a version of the image in which Obama appears to be smoking several cigarettes at once. Yet other versions of the image change the appearance of the cigarette to make it look like Obama is smoking marijuana. And an entry on the blog, Washed It includes an uncropped version of the "Obama smoking" image.

And then, finally, some prankster took the above altered image and placed a funny acorn hat on the hapless President's head:

Thus, as suggested by the punch line (acorn cap with the nut still attached) the final version of the manipulated image is probably intended either as a joke, or a less than subtle political comment, hence its inclusion on many humour, satirical and politically orientated websites.

It should be noted that President Obama has publicly acknowledged his difficulty in quitting smoking and at a June 2009 press conference, admitted that he still had the occasional cigarette. However, the above image does not depict one of the President's occasional lapses.

Warning message circulating on popular social network, Facebook, states that a recent campaign asking people to change their profile picture to a cartoon character as a means of raising awareness about child violence is actually a scheme run by a paedophile group intended to make it more likely that children will accept their friend requests.  

In fact, the suggestion that the "cartoon character" profile picture change campaign is a paedophile plan is totally baseless and nonsense. The claims in the warning are false. Even though its exact origins are somewhat unknown, the campaign, which has gone viral on Facebook, is indeed intended to raise awareness about the issue of violence against children and has no sinister or hidden motives.

This rapidly popular Facebook warning message states that a recent campaign to raise awareness about child violence is actually an evil and sneaky plan started by a group of paedophiles. The campaign discussed in the warning, which has gone viral on Facebook, forces users to modify their profile picture to a cartoon character as a means of fighting against child violence. The warning suggests that this campaign is actually a cover for a paedophile group with a cause to make it more likely that children will accept their friend requests because their profile pictures feature cartoon characters.

However, the claims in the warning message are totally baseless and nonsense; therefore, certainly should not be taken seriously. These nonsense and ridiculous claims will be discussed in details in this post.

Before going further, however, let us look at the anti-violence campaign itself. Just about everyone currently active on Facebook will have noticed that a great many Facebook profile pictures have indeed been changed to cartoon characters during the last few days. These profile changes began sweeping across the network after messages like the following began circulating:

ALL FB USERS Change your facebook profile picture to a cartoon character from your childhood and invite your friends to do the same. Until monday (Dec. 6) there should be no human faces on facebook, but an invasion of memories. FOR THE FIGHT AGAINST CHILD VIOLENCE

The exact origin of the campaign is currently unclear. Some reports indicate that the campaign may have started among Facebook users in Greece and Cypress. Since then, the campaign has taken the social network by storm and inspired a number of dedicated Facebook groups along the way. While the campaign does not appear to have been started by any specific child welfare group, at least one organization , the NSPCC, is now openly supporting the craze. The NSPCC asks users to show their support by donating money as well as by changing their profile picture.

Some have suggested that such campaigns are not particularly effective. However, it could be argued that such a high profile campaign might at least raise awareness about the plight of abused children and may also encourage more people to donate to child welfare causes or take a more active role in protecting vulnerable children within their communities. Regardless of its effectiveness, it seems clear that this campaign is motivated by a genuine desire to help.

Thus, the absurd claim that the campaign is actually some kind of front for paedophiles is all the more reprehensible. While even a hint of paedophile activity is understandably enough to raise fear and alarm, the level of paranoia on the subject exemplified by the rampant reposting of this warning message is concerning. It seems that people are simply not thinking this scenario through before reposting the message. There is simply no logic whatsoever to the claim put forward in the warning. If some sinister paedophile group was intent on luring children into their clutches by changing their profile pictures to child-friendly cartoon characters, the very last thing that they would desire is for the wider Facebook community to follow suit. Such an outcome would of course rob them of the perceived advantage that motivated them to change their picture in the first place. Therefore, the very last thing they would do is to encourage other (non- paedophile) users to also change their profile pictures by spreading around a viral message to that effect.

Some versions of the warning claim that various news outlets have confirmed the supposed paedophile connection to the anti-violence campaign. However, there are no credible news reports that support the absurd claims in the warning in any way whatsoever.

The circulation of false and malicious warnings about supposed paedophile activity seems to be a growing - and quite worrisome - trend on Facebook. Messages that have circulated over the last few months have not only warned about non-existent Facebook paedophile groups but have also gone as far as to name innocent people as suspected paedophiles.

So, in summary, if you feel that changing your profile picture to a cartoon character may help raise awareness of child violence, then by all means do so. However, please do not repost the scurrilous and totally unfounded claim that this well-meaning and innocuous anti-violence campaign is some sort of sinister paedophile plot. By reposting, you will be helping to perpetrate destructive misinformation that will help nobody. In fact, reposting such material is downright irresponsible.
